Part C

1. Sustenance of Internal Quality Assurance Cell and its activity as a measure for quality assurance and future development :

The present IQAC will review their activity at the end of the current session and accordingly plan for the changes needed for betterment of the cell. The cell will also keep in touch with the regulatory authority of IQAC and their counterpart in West Bengal State Higher Education Council for considering any change at the policy level of NAAC and the Government concerned. Being a Government college, the feedback from the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, is particularly important for the running and functioning of IQAC.

2. New courses:

For long Goenka College of Commerce has carried with its name the words “Business Administration” without having any practical connotation for the same. To do justice with its name as well as to honour the desire of the founders, the College is actively considering opening Postgraduate Management Course and other job-oriented courses like Travel and Tourism Management and Insurance Management. The college is doing the necessary ground work for the same before submitting the proposal to the Government of West Bengal and the affiliating university.

3. Infrastructure development plan:

Commensurate with the expansion programmes in hand, the college has in mind the following infrastructure development plans:

•  Vertical expansion of the administrative block of the college building.

•  Noise-free digital automatic generator set for uninterrupted power supply during the college hours.

•  Construction of another auditorium with all modern amenities.

•  Refurbishing the Postgraduate/ MBA classrooms with acoustics and electronic gadgets like computers and LCD projectors.

•  Development of a dynamic website in place of the present static website of the college.

•  Purchasing additional computers for administrative use as well as for the Computer Lab.

•  Arranging additional space for the growing number of books in the Library.

•  Digitization of old and rare books.

•  Making online the entire admission process.

  1. Seminars:

The Seminar Committee of the college has been planning for organizing different types of seminars throughout the year. Accordingly, Departmental Seminars, Students' Seminar and National/State Level seminars will be organized in consultation with the IQAC.

  1. Academic Journal:

In addition to the present college magazine, the College has also felt the need for an academic journal to bolster publication of research-oriented writings on Commerce and Economics. The IQAC will take the necessary steps in this regards.

  1. Stakeholders' meeting:

The college intends to have regular meetings with the parents of the students in order to apprise them of the progress of their wards in their studies.
